About me

I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor, and an Accredited Member of the BACP. I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, a recognised British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited qualification.

I incorporate elements of CBT into selected sessions when appropriate. I also offer Solution Focused Brief Therapy over six sessions. I have recently completed a Certificate in Essential Supervision Skills, and I am currently working towards an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

In my work I comply with the BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice, and I am registered with the ICO.
In addition, I have worked as an Assistant Tutor, training students working towards a Certificate in Counselling Skills, supporting and helping the students to fulfil their potential. In the past I have worked as a telephone volunteer for ChildLine.

My private practice is situated in East Finchley, North London.

I couldn't have asked for a better therapist to help me with my journey. It really has been the best thing I've ever done.
It is hard to articulate how much therapy with Gaynor has helped me. It was the first time I had approached therapy and I was unsure what to find. Gaynor provided a calm, safe and reassuring space in which I began to identify harmful patterns of behaviour in myself and others that had left me feeling stressed, trapped, or out-of-control. I felt a huge sense of relief and release being able to talk to her. I now have a greater understanding of what triggers those emotions and how to better manage those triggers, which in turn has left me feeling more in control of my own life.
